Wagner - A Wall of Lights - Page 25
Ape Interrogator: What kind of ape could withstand that kind of horror? You’re a monster!
Jim Wagner: I suppose you’ll have to throw me to the humans now, huh? Huh? That would really show me! An ape who is not a human…
Ape Interrogator: No, I’m afraid that you’ve have to be subjected to the direct persecution of a powerful one. The eater of jungles. The devourer of souls.
Jim Wagner: Does he know how many lights there are?
Ape Interrogator: He INVENTED the lights!
Light counting torture is highly under-rated when it comes to the social awkwardness it can cause when the person (or ape) subjected to it is either a moron or holds an extremely strong sense of compromise. It doesn’t help that the actual torture part of the torture device is outright silly. Also, inviting lights is a pretty big deal!
Thompkins has not yet remarked on this comic.
