Giant Space Lizard is coming…

Fun Junk: June 2nd, 2008
giant-space-lizard-is-coming

The Giant Space Lizard website finally has a “real” host and ComicPress on it. Before the end of June I hope to begin posting the first “Wagner” comic I drew in Adobe Illustrator about a year ago. It was written by Chaerb and maybe once this runs he’ll write the second half of [...]

But How Can The World Be Ready?

Fun Junk: June 2nd, 2008
but-how-can-the-world-be-ready

Giant Space Lizard may be coming but how can the world ever be ready?
I’m sorry I’m not as chatting as Thompkins but I at least needed to post now that he’s set a precedent of actually updating a Web site.
Maybe something that I that I should learn how to do anyway.

Web access in Hotlanta

Fun Junk: June 26th, 2008
web-access-in-hotlanta

Well despite several scheduling errors my numerous phone calls paid off and I finally have cable+internet+phone here in Atlanta.  So now the ladies totally have a home phone number…they can ignore…in addition to my cell and e-mail…if there were any ladies…changing topic…
Thanks to copious help from Chaerb this website is entirely functional.  Just some little [...]

Random…

Fun Junk: June 30th, 2008
random

Thompkins, what an absolutely random episode of ST:TNG to reference.  Absolutely random…
With Thompkins now representing the South, I’m sure that this space can be a multi-cultural as two white dudes can get.  Maybe.

So3K Update! (Plus one other thing)

Fun Junk: July 7th, 2008
so3k-update-plus-one-other-thing

For those one or two people on the internet who were waiting for Chaerb to write more Rob Kestler…well, he hasn’t. But to fill the void, even just a little bit, another episode of The Saga of Three Kings (mature content warning) has been added to Chad’s Utopia. Facts about Kestler’s childhood are [...]

Dog blogs and internet poets

dog-blogs-and-internet-poets

Since I’m not really a blogger and Chaerb only ever blogged as a dog living in St. Cloud this website currently has a trail of old posts on it, and I don’t like it (aesthetically).  So I’m reducing it to the most recent 2 posts.  This might take me out of the search engines’ favor.  [...]

Russian FLOWER Merchants??

Fun Junk: August 13th, 2008
russian-flower-merchants

Ok Thompkins, I thought you didn’t want comments because of the incalculable amounts of BUTTERCUP spam the site would collect in the comments.  Being as this site has lizard in the title, I think there would be a very small subset of people interested in the types of niche BOXCAR that may be posted within [...]

Delicious

Fun Junk: August 14th, 2008
delicious

You’re spelling BOXCAR wrong.  Prawn are a delicious relative of shrimp.  Yet they terrify people who have never seen an ocean like Chaerb.  I assume.  And thanks also for preventing the little kids with web blocking software from seeing our utterly tame 80’s sci-fi based humor.

Oceans: Threat or Menace?

Fun Junk: August 17th, 2008
oceans-threat-or-menace

I saw an ocean once, it was terrifying.  I quickly crawled back to the middle continent where our water comes in harmless lake format.  Also Thompkins, are we writing for search engines like everyone else or are we writing for people to read like idiots?  Have I mentioned lately MARGARET THATCHER, QUEEN ELIZABETH UNICORN?
The internet [...]

Censorship powers activate!

Fun Junk: August 18th, 2008
censorship-powers-activate

I’ve decided to take the Homestar Runner-esqe high road and censor my own website down to a certain level.  This level would probably be the equivalent of the movie rating of PG-13.  You know what the 13 means - extra violence!  The violence is pretty much unavoidable given every idea for Space Adventures that has [...]

Post-Cancellation level yet?

Fun Junk: August 26th, 2008
post-cancellation-level-yet

Looking at this week’s comic it’s clear I had finally figured out how to use Adobe Illustrator by this point, especially if compared to the first attempt.  The sweat on medical student Koko’s brow and having the right number of joints in characters’ legs bring this week’s offering up to “Tolerable” on my own personal [...]

But…

Fun Junk: August 27th, 2008
but

I would argue that pre-cancellation Family Guy had just as many pointless asides and one off jokes, it’s just that they were funnier!  So I could at least be potentially stealing from pre-cancellation as well!  I think this small flash back is more connected to the main story than the typical Family Guy flashback.
On the [...]

High five!

Fun Junk: September 10th, 2008
high-five

This week’s comic, as a script that Chaerb wrote, contained a description of the action that was something like “Koko and Jim struggle in vain to high five until they realize that they are tied up”.  Attempting to make that even slightly evident was one of the more fun parts of drawing this series.
There are [...]

Finally, something with a lizard on “Giant Space Lizard”

Fun Junk: September 24th, 2008
finally-something-with-a-lizard-on-giant-space-lizard

I located the following sketch (scrawled with a ballpoint pen on a piece of printer paper no less) and decided to post it:

This is of a Giant Space Lizard, possibly Vagrond, in the style that’s planned for Space Adventures.  I think I drew it last summer when I should have been working.  Clap!

Brain science podcast

Dr. Shella Keilholz (my professor adviser at Georgia Tech/Emory) did a panel on fMRI brain imaging at Dragon Con (a local sci-fi convention in Atlanta).  For which she was teased mercilessly by her students.  However she did later forward us the following links:

Posting schedule for the month of October

If you’re not someone in my immediate circle of family, friends and current and former co-workers, and you managed to find this site, good for you! This site will continue to be updated every Saturday, but take note of the following highly important information (note: information is only highly important in context of this site, [...]

Found a good comic

found-a-good-comic

Recently I’ve been playing a game where I randomly click on Project Wonderful and Oh No Robot comic links to see if I can find a new comic that (a) I have never heard of before and (b) is worth reading regularly.  I did find one last week, and realized that it was its second [...]

Remarks retroactively added

remarks-retroactively-added

I’ve gone back and added retroactive commentary to some of the Space Adventures comics that have been posted in a process known as “retcomming”.   Also some of the scheduled comics now have remarks as well.  Will Chaerb follow my lead?  Only time, and not the RSS feed as we’re adding these remarks to the [...]

Found with my own two eyes (plus the 3rd one implanted on my forehead)

found-with-my-own-two-eyes-plus-the-3rd-one-implanted-on-my-forehead

I was a big “Calvin & Hobbes” fan when it was running, but if I were to make a Flashimation parody of Bill Watterson it would probably go exactly like this Evil Josh & Billy episode …  except with more dinosaurs.
(Here is a link to the main Evil Josh & Billy website as they don’t [...]

We have been discovered (by spambots)

Fun Junk: November 22nd, 2008
we-have-been-discovered-by-spambots

Judging from the 18 comments of utter gibberish I just deleted, this website is now sufficiently indexed on the interweb to attract spambots looking to bring people to websites with keywords “lizards”, “sketches” and “chair”.  (I guess our transcriptions were pretty explicit about what people were sitting in.)  Does this reflect any human audience?  Probably [...]
